David Dyess

John David Dyess, known to most as David, was born May 11, 1957 and passed away in his home in Morriston, Florida on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 66 years young. David was the meat department manager for Ward's Supermarket in Gainesville, Florida for over 20 years. He most enjoyed hunting and fishing and time spent with his family. David is preceded in death by his wife Cynthia "Cindy" Dyess ne Houseworth, father George Billy Dyess, brother Billy Franklin "Frankie" Dyess and grandson Craig Robert Dyess. David is survived by his mother Alice Marie Dyess, brothers Henry Leo Dyess and James Wesley Dyess, and his four children Steven Lee Harriet (Charlotte), Jennifer Ellen Blackburn (Ricky), Jason Michael Dyess (Amy) and Amanda Lyn Cash (Michael). He is also survived by his six grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at Knauff Funeral Home in Williston on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm with a visitation held one hour prior. Brother Jerry Philman will officiate. Burial will follow at the Cherry Hill Cemetery in Morriston. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home Williston.
