Obituary

Glenn Thomas Thornton (Pop), was born on April 19th, 1949 in Naples, Florida to loving parents, Franklin and Dorothy Thornton. He left to be with God on June 17th, 2025 in his home surrounded by his family. He moved to the Tri County area in 1993 from Naples, FL.

He was a hardworking man, dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them. He was a retired 5th generation commercial fisherman and blue crabber.

He was hard, but loving. He was a straight shooter, told you exactly how it was. If you were around Glenn, you were guaranteed to laugh because he had a great story for you. He loved watching fishing shows and old Westerns.

Glenn is preceded in death by his loving parents, Frank and Dorothy Thornton and his ex-wife Suzanna Nicholson, his brother Ray Thornton. He is survived by his brother Jimmy Thornton. His daughters: Natalie Nash and Lana Thornton, son-in-law Johnny Brewer, his 6 grandchildren: James Thornton, Collin Wilkens, Collins wife Savannah Wilkens, Dustin Patterson, Monty Nash, Monty's wife Amber Nash, Jacob Nash, Jacobs wife Dawn Nash, and Noel Nash. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren Ally, Lilith, Grayson, Connor, Emmett, Elias, Amariah, Iverson Jr, Kyng, and Ace. He loved them dearly. Also countless cousins, and all his nieces and nephews.

Dad, we will miss you, immensely. You were our "go-to" when life got rough, you were our sanity in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone we could count on, and although you were tough, you always got your point across without judgement and always provided us sound advice. You always made sure we made our decisions after thinking things through. Because of you, we have the hearts of a lion, the love and strength of our family. We thank you dad for all the wise words of advice, the love you gave us and the beautiful lives we've lived because of you, your hard work, and your boundless love for us. We are all better people Dad, because of you. We will forever keep you in our hearts with God.
