Obituary
Katelyn Nicole “Katie” Allen, 34, passed away on November 10, 2025. Born in Gainesville, Florida, Katie grew up in Cedar Key and attended Cedar Key School before graduating from Chiefland High School—though she was always a Shark at heart.
Katie proudly served her country as an E02 in the United States Army. Deeply committed to her community, she was an active member of Cedar Key Vets and dedicated much of her time to supporting local children and families. She was heavily involved in her daughter's school activities and sports, recently started a costume closet to help children in need, and played a role in developing The Children's Table.
Katie loved cheering from the stands at her daughter's games, hunting for arrowheads and shark teeth, fishing, and being on the water. She had a caring heart, a loving spirit, and a selfless nature. Strong, generous, and deeply devoted to those she loved, Katie always put others first. Most of all, she cherished her family.
She is survived by her mother, Joanne O'Steen, and stepfather Chad O'Steen; her girlfriend Cinnamon; her daughter Paisley Hall (mother, Katherine); her father Danny Allen; her siblings Daniel (Jessica), Dillan (Kerstin), Shea (Jake), Abby, Taryn, Trace, and Lexi; her grandparents Lillian Rooks (Meme), Jimmy Allen, Martha Allen, and Anne O'Steen; her uncles James (Amanda), Kalanu, and Logan (Jovi); and her nieces and nephews Easten, Skylar, and Jace.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers Joseph Hathcox, Raymond Wilkerson, and Thomas Rooks.
Katie was surrounded by many aunts, uncles, and cousins—some related by blood and others who became family through the deep bonds they shared.
A graveside service will be held at Cedar Key Cemetery on Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 a.m. Brother Billy Philman will officiate.
A repass will follow at Rosewood Baptist Church. Those attending are kindly asked to bring a covered dish.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cedar Key Vets or The Children's Table in Bronson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Weems & Sons Funeral Homes.
