Obituary

Shirley Ann Stalans, 85, Born December 5th, 1939, in Gainesville Florida, Passed Away on September 17, 2025, in Gainesville Florida.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Robert and Laura Stalans, Her husband Richard Branson Sr., And her 2 Sisters Juanita (RJ) Bass and Doris (JW) Branson.

She was survived by Her 4 Children Richard (Valarie) Branson, Clarence “Bobby” (Leslie) Branson, Karen (Mike) Whitehurst, Rodger (Mary) Branson and Her Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

In her life she battled many illnesses but with every one she came out with a new and brighter look on life, she was a go with the flow kind of woman. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. But she will be rejoicing in the arms of the lord because she is finally home.


A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the Joppa Baptist Church at 11am. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service for the viewing and visitation.

Every single time I saw her, I’d say hi grandma and she’d always smile. I will miss her and her smile but I’m so happy for her to be relieved of this earth and suffering. She has gotten to be with her Savior face to face.
