Raymond M. Shifflett, Jr.

May 18, 1947 – January 20, 2026


Raymond M. “Ray” Shifflett, Jr., 78, of Williston, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home on January 20, 2026. Born on May 18, 1947, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Ray lived a life marked by courage, devotion, and deep love for his family.


Ray proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and sacrifice were recognized through the awarding of a Purple Heart and several other commendations before his honorable discharge in 1970.


He is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Gentry and Raymond M. Shifflett, Sr.


Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Betty Shifflett; his daughters Treva Damron (Scott) and Raylene Posey (Gene); his grandchildren Justin Damron, Tony Freeman, and Kyle Damron; and his great-granddaughters Autumn Damron and Hannah Damron. He is also survived by his brother Graham Shifflett, and sisters Doris Long and Carolyn Hall.

Ray's legacy of strength, service, and unwavering dedication to family will be cherished and remembered always.


There will be a graveside service at Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, FL on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 10:30am.
