Ellen Mullett

Ellen V. (Snitzie) Mullett, 101 years, of Chiefland, Florida passed away peacefully on March 25, 2021. She was born in Winnipeg, Canada on March 22, 1920 to Edward G. Mullett and Rose Ellen Mullett. When the family moved from Canada to the Chicago area during the Depression, Snitzie became a naturalized citizen. The family decided to move south in the early 1930's, and settled in Chiefland, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Rose Ellen Mullett, and sister Ada Louise Griffin. She is survived by her nephew Richard Griffin (Gayle); great nephews Steven Griffin (Alexia) and Michael Griffin (Frances); great-great nephews Grey and Charlie Griffin; and great-great nieces Ada and Brooke Griffin. Snitzie was a strong and independent woman before that was customary. She was an accomplished artist and loved to sketch and paint. Snitzie managed the Chiefland Theater in the 1950's and 1960's. She later got her cosmetology license and co-owned and operated the Doll House Beauty Shop with her sister Ada in Chiefland. Snitzie loved to water ski near Fanning Springs and swim at Manatee Springs. She attributed much of her longevity to swimming regularly in the waters of Manatee Springs. Knauff Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
