Elizabeth Lightner

Elizabeth Lee Puckett Lightner of Williston, Florida and formerly of Winchester, Kentucky, passed peacefully into Heaven on April 10, 2021. She was born on May 26,1923 to Owen and Mollie Burl Hall Puckett. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Raymond Lightner, her daughter, Susie Lightner Dykeman, her six Puckett brothers (Clarence, Cecil, Carl, Virgil, Billy and Omer,) and three sisters, Flossie and Betty Puckett and Ida Puckett Chism. She is survived by her son, Mike Lightner (Sherrie) of Williston, Florida and her son-in-law William A. Dykeman (Bonnie) of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Molly Lightner of Morriston, Florida, Mary Lightner and Raymie Lightner of Ocala, Florida, Brittany Dykeman Neely (Danny) and Wyler Dykeman of Winchester. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Will, Carter and Adalyn Dykeman of Winchester, Kentucky, Emma and Joe Lightner of High Springs, Florida and Margaret Dean and Danny Steele Neely, III of Winchester, Kentucky. She is also survived by her brother, Linville Puckett (Jodi) of Lexington, Kentucky and by many much loved nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was a beautiful, Christian lady loved by all who ever knew her. She was a graduate of Clark County High School, a member of Calvary Christian Church, and formerly the Mason Jar Lady of the Mason Jar Restaurant in Ocala, Florida. She relished her time at the Mason Jar loving on everyone who came through the doors there. Elizabeth was a fantastic Southern cook. She cooked Sunday Dinner for her family for over fifty years. She hooked rugs and made flower arrangements for Calvary Christian Church for many years. Elizabeth loved attending all the sports events in which her grandchildren played. She became "Nana" to all their team mates. She was part of several Bible Study Groups. We all remember her being the best ironer in the world. Her clothes didnt dare show a wrinkle. She doted on the grand children and great grand children and dearly loved making them chocolate fudge. She played the piano and taught all her babies to sing "Jesus Loves Me," her favorite hymn. Graveside services will be held at the Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston, Florida on Wednesday, April 14. 2021 at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Just Neighbors, Inc, 16531 NE 40th Street, Williston, Florida 32696.
