Mildred Lewis

Mildred Eloise (O'Steen) Lewis, age 92, of Bell, Florida went to be with Lord January 5, 2026. Eloise was born January 20, 1933 in Irvin, Florida. She is predeceased by the love of her life, husband Buck Lewis, her parent's Lonnie and Charlcie O'Steen; her daughter Jan Harvey, her brother, Kenneth O'Steen, her sisters, JoAnn Fowler Yeager, Dorothy (Dot) Fowler, and Barbara Douglas. Eloise is survived by one sister, Betty Osborn. She is also survived by her daughter Debbie Jones (Jesse), two sons Mike Lewis, and Randy Lewis (Arlita); six grandchildren, Rodney Harvey (Danay), Summer Hester (Eric), Jason Horne (Nicole), Michael Lewis (Stacey), Stephen Lewis, Jamie Lewis (Serena); thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Eloise spent many years in Bell and the surrounding communities of Archer and Williston. She also spent a few years in Tampa, Florida and several years in Houston, Texas. Eloise loved the Lord and taught Sunday School for many years. During her lifetime she owned and operated a florist and a restaurant; kitchen manager at a day care center, department store manager and personal home health aide. Eloise was also a wonderful homemaker, she was the heart of the Lewis family. Her kitchen was the gathering place for many Sunday dinners, holiday gatherings, and celebrations. Everyone loved her “country cooking”. Eloise was also a bluegrass fan. She traveled with her husband and his bluegrass band. On occasion she would even play the bass with them. Eloise had full life and she will be missed and loved by many.

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, 1:30 pm at Orange Hill Cemetery, 3490 NE 180th Ave., Williston, Florida. Arrangements are under the care of Weems and Sons Funeral Home, Chiefland, Florida.
