Ruth Brown

Ruth Marie Brown (Thompson), age 97, long time resident of Williston, FL, passed away to be with our Lord on January 4th, 2021. Ruth was born on September 8, 1923 in Marathon City, Wisconsin, to Paul Thompson (1892-1966) and Katherine Salzman (1895-1968). Ruth had two sisters and four brothers who preceded her in death. Ruth married George D. Brown (1921-1997) on October 12, 1946 at St. James Catholic Church in Wausau, Wisconsin. They were married for 51 years until the passing of her husband in 1997. Ruth and George had one daughter, Nancy L. Drow (1948-2020) who was born in Wausau, Wisconsin. They moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida around 1958. They lived in Fort Lauderdale until Georges retirement from Eastern Airlines in 1978, where they moved to Williston, Florida full time in 1979. Ruth was active in various clubs and volunteered for many activities during her 42 years living in Williston. Ruths life will always be remembered and cherish by all those who knew her. Ruth is survived by her grandchildren Charles F. Adams, Jr and wife Diana Adams of Tampa, FL, Scott A Adams and wife Susie Adams of San Antonio, TX, Jessica Cook and husband Walt Cook of Williston, FL. Ruth had seven great grandchildren, Scott Adams, Jr, Dustin Adams, Zachary Adams, Jennifer Cook, Amanda Cook, Charles (Chase) Adams, III and Katelynn Cook and one great-great grandchild Devin J. Adams and her niece Kathy Bicos of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Ruth is proceeded in death by her husband George D. Brown (1997) and her daughter Nancy L. Drow (2020). The family will have a small memorial for close family members.
