Julius Artwich

Julius Joseph "Lou" Artwich of Chiefland passed away on October 8, 2020. He was 93. Lou was born in Stambaugh, Michigan and worked as a hard rock miner most of his life. He was a World War II veteran where he served in the US Army, 41st Armored Infantry Battalion. Lou will be remembered for his kindness, compassion and straight from the hip, no holding back opinions and his very large hands. Lou was predeceased by his wife Geraldine V. Artwich and daughter Shirlee "Sissy" Artwich. He is survived by his sons Michael Artwich of New Hamburg, NY; Russell Artwich Sr. and his wife Susan of Chiefland, FL; his grandsons Russell Artwich Jr. of Beacon, NY; Erik Hardwick and his wife Erin of Beacon, NY and Armand Trepepi and his wife, Jackie of Staatsburg, NY; two great grandsons Brian Patrick and Alex James Hardwick. A memorial service will be held at the Chiefland Golf and Country Club on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 2:00p.m. The family would like to extend their appreciation and say thank you to the Knauff Funeral Home for taking care of Lou and his last wishes.
