John Stephens

John Stephens Sr. (JW) passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at his home in Chiefland, FL. John was 76 years old. Born March 7, 1944 to Roland and Daisy Stephens. John was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, Uncle and friend. He had a special place in his heart for all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John worked at Hunts pest control for approx. 40 years. He was often referred to as the "Bug Man", John liked to hunt, fish and always loved to have big cookouts with his family and friends. John was a member of First Baptist Church of Chiefland. John loved the Lord with all of his heart and never failed to tell anyone who he came into contact with. John is preceded in death by his parents Roland and Daisy Stephens, three sisters, Beatrice Thomas, Delores Jenkins and Mary Williams. John is survived by his daughter, Janice Helms; son, Walt (Shannon) Stephens; sister, Janie Jacobs and two brothers, Robert (Diana) Stephens and Earl (Alison) Stephens. Grandchildren, Abigail Wariner, Sydney Stephens, Troy Laurimore, Chase Helms, JW Stephens, Grayson Stephens and Step-Grandchildren, Charissa Morris, Zack Morris and Wyatt Acker and 7 Great-Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland, FL with Dr. Kris Mullis and Rev. Billy Keith officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Trenton, FL.
