Obituary

Phoenix Michael Elliott, of Morriston, Florida, passed away on December 26, 2025, at the age of 16, following a UTV accident.

Anyone who knew Phoenix—known as Cowboy to his family, friends, and teammates—knew he lived an adventurous and meaningful life in his 16 years. He was a lightning bolt, a burst of pure energy who touched countless lives and hearts. True to the spirit of his namesake, Phoenix faced every challenge placed before him and always found a way to rise, renew and ready for what came next.

Phoenix loved God, country, and being an active part of his community. He was a student at Ewing's Pai Lum Kung Fu, one of the first Junior Fire Cadets for the Bronson Fire Department, and a devoted member of Rafter Cross Cowboy Church. From an early age, he rode alongside his dad on pool routes for the family business, learning the value of hard work and responsibility. He was known at the Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Tournament for his helpful nature and heart for serving others. Alongside his parents, Phoenix's immediate and extended family, friends, teammates, and community played a profound role in shaping the young man he was becoming.

An avid animal lover, Phoenix had a special place in his heart for dogs. His goldendoodle, Jake, was his constant companion and partner in fun and mischief on the family farm. While working with his dad, Phoenix became a familiar and beloved face among customers, admired for his strong work ethic and his natural connection with the animals he encountered. He was often affectionately referred to as an “animal whisperer.”

Phoenix was deeply passionate about BMX racing and firefighting. He had set clear goals and charted a determined path toward becoming a firefighter, driven by his desire to help others, while also training and competing in pursuit of his dream of becoming a BMX champion.

He is survived by his parents, Mike and Rene; numerous immediate and extended family members; many friends and teammates; and his faithful dog, Jake.

For Phoenix, the world was best experienced on two wheels curving out his own path wherever the track led. Phoenix's memory will be forever cherished. Funeral services will be held at Rafter Cross Cowboy Church on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ewing's Pai Lum Kung Fu, 2509 NE 3rd Street Ocala, FL 34470 or the following organizations below that Phoenix cared deeply about.
