After 26 years, he retired in 2007 after his third bout with Hodkins Lymphoma.

He was a member of the Williston Art League and then the Gainesville Fine Arts Association. He has displayed his picture at the Fire House Gallery in Newberry, at Trinity Church and SIMED Building in Gainesville. He was also a member of the “Silver Sisters Trivia Team”, he was their “Silver Brother”.

February of 2025, he suffered the first of two bouts of Septic Shock. He was recovering nicely until September when the Sepsis resurfaced. Paul was predeceased by his parents Lee J. and Ramona Missall. He is survived by his wife, Constance, brother John Lee Missall and God-daughter Joanna Reddy.
