Obituary
Edwin “Eddie” K. Holder, age 69, was born on November 12, 1956, in St. John, Barbados, and passed away peacefully on December 27, 2025, in Morriston, Florida.
Eddie came to the United States carrying with him a wealth of skills, determination, and a strong work ethic. Over the years, he made his home in Queens, Long Island, and Germantown, New York, before eventually settling in Morriston, Florida. A true jack of all trades, Eddie worked as a mechanic, driver, and handyman. He was always fixing, building, and lending a helping hand to anyone in need.
Eddie was well known for his love of cars, his animals—especially his birds, chickens, ducks, and rabbits—his garden, Bob Marley's music, and his passion for cooking and good food. These joys, along with his generous spirit and hardworking nature, will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Eddie was the beloved son of the late Claude and Gwendolyn Holder. A proud and devoted father to Dale Trotman, Dionne Holder, Shondelle Nicholls, Jason Holder, and Dylan Holder. Cherished brother to Evadne Holder, Grace Moore, Melbourne Holder, and Betty Holder, and was preceded in death by his brother Livingston Holder.
Eddie was a loving grandfather to Daija Trotman, Delicia Holder, Jayce Holder, Jordan Holder, Zen-oh Goku Talbert, and Zen-Nia Talbert. He was an uncle and cousin to many, and a relative of the Holder and White families. Eddie was formerly married to Margaret Holder. He was a dear friend to the late Coral Trotman, Monica Nicholls, Karen Bell, Laurie Strattman, Sophia Holder, the Nicholls family, his neighbors in Morriston and Ocala, and many others whose lives he touched.
A private service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Weems & Sons Funeral Home in Williston, Florida.
