Charlotte Maupin

Charlotte Anne (Coleman Brown) Maupin died peacefully after a prolonged illness on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019 in Gainesville, Florida at age 79 with her family by her side. Charlotte is survived by her husband James Maupin, children; Daniel Brown, Tina Brown, Lisa Tate (Jeffrey), James Brown and Julie Brown, two step-sons; Sean Donkin (Jennifer) and Matt Maupin, two sisters; Rhodella Maricich (Joe) and Georgia Yusk (Dick), and a brother Gerald Coleman (Barbara). She has 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband James Brown. Charlotte Maupin was born on June 6, 1940 in Eastman, WI to Virginia and Willis Coleman. She graduated from United Township High School in East Moline, IL in 1958. Charlotte married James Brown in 1957 and the couple had five children while residing in Central Illinois and Wisconsin. She went on to complete her training as an LPN at Blackhawk College in Kewanee, IL in 1975. Following the death of her first husband, Charlotte married James Maupin in 1986. The couple moved to Trenton, Florida in 2006 from Washington, IL. Charlotte was a skilled and gentle nurse who cared deeply for her patients. In retirement she was a skilled gardener and served her church and community in numerous volunteer roles. Charlotte is remember by her family as a fiercely loyal and loving mother, wife and grandmother who loved and supported her family and welcomed its new members warmly. A memorial service to celebrate her life and will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 10th, 2019 at Old Town United Methodist Church, 25633 US-19, Old Town, FL 32680. Light refreshments will follow the service. Cremation rites were under the care of Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland, FL.(352)493-4777.
