Joyce McCraney

Joyce McCraney 74 years old also know too many as Joy or Grandma Joy passed away in her Chiefland log cabin home on July 4th, 2019 under hospice care. We are so blessed and thankful for all the wonderful health care services, compassion, care, and love that the Hospice Vitas HealthCare Team provided to our Mom. She was a native FL born on July 31st -1945 at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, FL. Our Mom loved cooking, baking, being a nurse, seamstress, crafter, and has loved to crochet. She enjoyed her friendships at the Levy County Quilt Museum and the Baptist Church in Chiefland. Mom was a very gifted and talented seamstress and the friends she met throughout time were very special to her. Mom will be missed however she will continue to live on in all of us and everyone she met along the way. If you were blessed to be a part of our Moms life please join us on Saturday July 13, 2019 to celebrate her life. We will be gathering at the Manatee Springs State Park, the Catfish Pavilion, from 11am to 2pm all her family and friends are welcome to come. If youd like to have a glass of ice tea with us and share a fond memory or act of kindness our mom provided to you and your family, please come to her celebration of life. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Dottie and Rick Mann, Marvin and Cheryl McCraney, Joyce and Mike Sloan, Burton McCraney and Missy Coffee. She is also survived by her sisters Frances Aycock, Evelyn Clark, and Janice Willis, 10 grandchildren and their spouses, 20 great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joyce is predeceased by her husband Douglass McCraney, grandson Toby McCraney, brother Sam Willis and nephew Murray Willis, brother in-law Philip Aycock and nephew Kenny Aycock, brother in- law Frank Clark, her parents Edith and Ernest Willis, Mother In law, Rose McCraney, Brother and Sister in-law Al and Sarah McCraney, and her great grandbaby Adison Bliffen.
