Geneva Jerrels

Geneva Williams Jerrels also known as "Big Granny", age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at her home in Bronson, FL. Big Granny was born on March 13, 1933 in Williston, FL. She was a 1951 graduate from Hawthorne High School. Granny married the love of her life, Rubin Jerrels Jr. on December 23, 1955. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bronson, FL. She worked as a school bus driver and substitute teacher for 31 years at Bronson High School where she was a second mother to all. Big Granny truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: visiting every church in the tri-county area, traveling with her friends on "mystery trips", giving her advice whether you wanted it or not, cooking and making the best pound cakes for every occasion no matter what town it was in, and her most treasured past time was visiting and loving her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Rubin Jerrels Jr.; her father and mother, Bert and Lillie Williams; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rube and Nell Jerrels. She is survived by her children, Rubin (Debbie) Jerrels of Bronson, FL, Lint Jerrels of Bronson, FL, Kelly (Debbie) Jerrels of Romeo, FL, Benny (Brenda) Jerrels of Bronson, FL, and Susie (Aaron) Robinson of Bronson, FL; two sisters, Patricia Meeks of Bronson, FL and Linda (Freddy) Shaw of Bronson, FL; sixteen grandchildren; forty eight great-grandchildren, with one on the way; three great-great grandchildren; her loving caretaker, Denita Hamilton, and many, many friends that she considered family . All that knew her please join us to celebrate her life at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Bronson on May 9, 2019. Visitation will be prior to service from 11:00- 1:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at the Robinson-Jerrels Cemetery in Bronson, FL (adjacent to the Rosemary Hill Cemetery).
