Belford Brown

Belford T. Brown of Chiefland, FL passed away on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at the E. T. York Care Center in Gainesville, FL. He was 92. Belford was born in Miami, FL to Winford Brown and Lucy Bell where he grew up. April 16, 1943 he enlisted in the Navy, he served as a boatswain's mate second on the USS intrepid, during WWII; 1947 he was honorably discharged were he went on to become a private pilot and met the love of his life Rosemary Axe. He became a successful businessman with Browns Aero service in Eudora AR. Belford has three children Teddy (Belford T Brown Jr. past in 1988), Bonnie and Win (William). He retired to Chiefland in the mid 90's where he lived out his life. Belford was, is and will always be loved and missed. Belford is survived by his wife of 71 years, Rosemary; two children Bonnie Hackney of Castalian Springs, TN, and Win (Susan) Brown of Chiefland, FL; brother, Jackie (Elaine) Lenknes of Dunnellon, FL; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will hold a memorial service in honor of Belford at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Manatee Springs Church of Christ, Chiefland, FL. Graveside Service will be at 1:30PM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Belford is under the care of the Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland, FL (352)493-4777.
