October 19, 1954 - November 22, 2025
Obituary
George Herbert Henry, of Bronson, Florida, passed away surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 19, 1954, in Dunedin, Florida, George was the beloved son of John and Nellie Henry.
George grew up in Ozona, Florida and graduated from Tarpon Springs High School. He later graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Criminology.
Answering the call to serve his country, George enlisted in the United States Army and served as Military Police during the Vietnam War.
Upon completion of his military service, George began a distinguished career with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, where he served in many capacities and earned the respect of those around him. Retiring as a Lieutenant, he was known for his integrity, steady leadership and unwavering dedication to the community. Not one to step away from service, George continued to give back as a reserve deputy with the Levy County Sheriff's Office.
In his younger years George enjoyed the thrill of racing cars and even school buses. During his law enforcement years, his passion for the sport was rekindled when he became involved with the Top Cop Charity racing events.
Upon retiring from a long and respected law enforcement career, George embraced the slower, more peaceful pace of farm life. He cherished caring for his horses and cattle and could often be found on a tractor, working the fields or fixing equipment. The farm became his sanctuary - where he found purpose, contentment, and simple everyday joy.
Above all, George was a devoted father. He treasured watching his daughter, Alyson, grow up and carry on his legacy, proudly serving as a Major with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. His pride in her accomplishments knew no bounds.
George is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie Henry, of Bronson, Florida; children Alyson Henry (Nicole Levi), Toni Webb (Phillip Strange) and Trevor (Jessica) Webb. He is also survived by his siblings Kenneth (Debbie) Henry, Richard (Sandra) Henry, and Lisa (Martin) Span. George was preceded in death by his parents John Henry, Nellie Bunker and brother Jay Henry.
He leaves behind cherished grandchildren - Luke, Victoria, Eli and Audrey, and great-grandchildren - Jax and Hazel, who brought him immense pride and joy, as well as many nieces and nephews
