Herbert Jesk

Mr. Herbert E. Jesk a 62 year resident of Chiefland passed away Friday, April 12, 2019 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, FL surrounded by his loving family. He was 90. Born in Cincinnati. OH he came to Chiefland, FL following his graduation from Auburn University in Auburn, AL. He was a teacher in the public school system and retired in 1987. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Masonic Brown Lodge#51 in Chiefland and served as the Worshipful Master of the lodge in 1964. He also was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #251 in Chiefland. He was a member of the Chiefland Civitan Club in 1997 he was director at the Florida National Square Dance Convention in Orlando, FL and for several years was involved with the Tri-County Outreach program in Chiefland, FL His hobbies were square dancing, hunting, fishing, gardening, anything outdoors and he dearly loved his family. Mr. Jesk is survived by his wife Geraldine of 35 years; 2 sons, Jimmy Dale and Alen Ray Jesk; 2 step-daughters Tami Hixon and Jane Highley; and 2 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church of Chiefland with Rev. Alex Christian officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, April 15, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland, FL. Burial will follow the service at the Chiefland United Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of the Knauff Funeral Home. SERVICES
