Daniel Stevens

Mr. Daniel W. Stevens, a lifetime resident of Williston, passed away Sunday, August 26th, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 90. Mr. Stevens was member of the First Baptist Church of Williston. He proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army during the Korean War. For several years he was employed by Whitehurst Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator. He was also a welder for the Williston Welding Company. He was a member of the McGee Hunting Club and, following his retirement, he enjoyed farming. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening, but his top priority was his family. Survivors are: wife, Betty, of 65 years; 1 son, Danny Joe and wife Kellie Stevens; 1 daughter, Marta Hartley and husband Darrell; 4 grandchildren, Caroline Hartley Shealy, David Hartley, Dustin Stevens, Danielle Stevens; and 7 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Williston with Pastor Jason Owenby officiating. Visitation will be 1/2 hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 90th Boulevard., Gainesville, Florida, 32606. Knauff Funeral Home - Williston in charge of arrangements.
