John Dixon

Mr. John Alvin Dixon, of Micanopy, passed away at his home August 14, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was 85. Born in Shiloh, Florida, he was a lifelong resident of Marion County. He was a member of the Flemington Baptist Church. He was a mechanical inspector for the State of Florida for 30 years before his retirement in 2002. His hobby was working, and he took great pride in his work, but his top priority was his family. Survivors are: wife, Nadine, of 58 years; 1 son, John "Eddie" and wife Donna Dixon; 1 daughter, Joni and husband Paul Freix; 2 brothers, Wesley and wife Avis Dixon, and Paul and wife Yvonne Dixon; 2 sisters, Betty and Anita; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, at the Flemington Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Philman officiating. Visitation will be 1/2 hour prior to service. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home - Williston. SERVICES Funeral Service
