Obituary
Nancy Ellen Eidson, 73, of Alachua, Florida, passed away on October 19, 2025. She was born on December 5, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Fred Sr. and Norma Eidson. She was a homemaker and loved the Lord. Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior and now she's pain free living life with others who've gone before her - singing and dancing inside the pearly gates: Jesus and coffee!
We were absolutely blessed to share her last few days with her and be in her presence. She was a constant witness. She loved deeply and cared about everyone's journey with Christ. She never judged, only loved and shared the Word. She was sweet and caring and shared all she had, always!
Both of her children, her grandchildren and her great grands all got to spend moments with her before the end. She spoke out of her mouth that she might be leaving this earth today (Saturday) or it might be tomorrow (Sunday) - and for the first time in 8 days during this hospital stay she said she was cold and we covered her and kept her comfortable. She also mentioned leaving when it was dark. Today, shortly before 3:00 pm, as the storms rolled in and it got dark and rainy Mom took her last breaths.
She is survived by her sister Beverly Rivers Eidson-DeMastus, daughter Elizabeth Barnett (Gregory A. Parcells), son David Barnett (Julie), granddaughters Christa, Jennifer, Danielle, Danica, Christina (Aaron), grandson Lawrence, great granddaughters Shaniyah and Briley, great grandsons Logan and Aaron, niece Glenda Jordan (Victor), nephew Steve Garnett (Karen), great nieces Lauren, Dani, Jessica, Summer and Courtney, great great nieces Lily, Mint, and McKenzie, great nephews Steven and Brandon and great great nephews Steven, Cade, Brayden, Blake and Knox.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Fred Odell Eidson Sr. and Norma Eloise Chenoweth Eidson, brother Fred Odell Eidson Jr., and grandson Michael Jones.
Graveside burial services for the family will be held November 7th.
There will be a celebration of life for the family on December 5th, on her birthday.
