Paul King

Mr. Paul W. King, of Williston, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at E.T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville. He was 93. Born in Buena Vista, Tennessee, he came to Williston 47 years ago from Blountstown, Florida and was formerly from Jackson, Tennessee. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston and was an ordained deacon at age 27 in Ripley, Tennessee. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. in WWII. He was a 60 year member of the Williston Masonic Lodge. He was a professional educator from 1950 until his retirement in 1984. He worked in the Florida Public School System, the Department of Corrections, and the College of Central Florida. His hobbies were woodworking, gardening, yard sales, and camping, but his top priority was his family and friends. He was the oldest living member of the Williston F.F.A. Alumni. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, in 2015. Survivors are: 1 son, Steve King and wife Barbara; 2 daughters, Camille Thompson and husband Dean, and Emily King and husband Jerry; 2 grandchildren, Stephanie King and husband Michael, and Launz Thompson. Graveside funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 graveside at Orange Hill Cemetery with Brother Mario Martinez officiating.
