Mary Prehn

Mrs. Mary Ellen Prehn, of Bronson, Florida, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Williston Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was 88. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she came to Bronson 45 years ago from Hallandale, Florida. Mrs. Prehn was of the Baptist faith. She was a trust officer in the banking industry for 23 years. Following her move from Bronson, she was employed with Moring Gas Company in Bronson for approximately five years, she worked for Tex Gas Co. in Gainesville for approximately 5 years, and she was employed at the Gainesville Medical Group for approximately 10 years, all of the above named as bookkeeper. Her hobbies were singing, cooking, and motorcycling, but her top priority was her family. Survivors are: husband, William Prehn, Sr., of 67 years; son, William C. Prehn, Jr., and wife Deborah; 1 daughter, Susan McFayden; 1 brother, Joseph M. Smith; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
