Madge Reid

Madge Carolyn Meriwether Reid of Chiefland passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at UF Health Shands Hospital, Gainesville, FL. She was 70. Madge was a native of the Chiefland area. She was a Baptist and a member of the Hardeetown Baptist Church. She began serving the Lord as a pianist at the age of 9. The majority of her working career was spent in the title and abstract field. Madge is predeceased by her parents, her son William "Hank" Allen, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She is survived by her husband Martin Reid of Chiefland, son Joseph (Eva) Gay of Chiefland, daughters, Karen Buchanan of Chiefland, Lewrissa (John) Mainwaring of Chiefland, Sheila Reid of Orlando, sister Mary Alice Chauncey (Ellison) Hardee, 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A service will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Hardeetown Baptist Church, Chiefland, FL. Visitation will be one hour prior at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Chiefland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland. SERVICES
