Arthur Anderson

Arthur Oscar Anderson age 95, passed away on November 29, 2017 at peace under the care of hospice and surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his son, Steve Anderson (wife Cheryl, daughters Meagan and Stephanie) and daughter Susan Anderson Connely (husband, Jack). He is preceded in death by his loving wife Frances Anderson, siblings, brother Dean Anderson, sister Dolly Patterson, and Gene Maluchnik. Arthur was a great family man and loving father. Art joined the United States Navy in 1943 and became a carrier pilot flying off the US Langley during World Was 2. Arts patriotism lasted him a lifetime. After coming out of the Navy, Art spent time in farming, real estate, and government. In addition he was always an active member in his community and church. In 1987, Arthur and Frances moved to South Florida to be near their children. They then moved to Gainesville in 1993 to be near their grandchildren who they doted on for the rest of their lives. His family and friends will always remember Art for his patriotism, loyalty, humor, trust, and compassion. A memorial will be at 10:00 AM at the VA Cemetery in Bushnell on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
