James Hiers

James Raymond Hiers Jr, of Trenton, FL passed away in his home Monday, September 25, 2017. He was 68. Moving from Tampa, James has lived in Trenton for 14 years, he is a Baptist and a member of the Concord Baptist Church in Chiefland. James is a retired supervisor for the Ryder Truck Company. He was a mechanic and enjoyed working on friends cars. His passion was his mission work with the Southern Baptist Association. And he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Patsy Hiers, of Trenton, FL, his sons John Short, of Plant City, FL, James R. Hiers III, of Inverness, and Robert Clifton Hiers, of Plant City, FL, his brothers Donnie Hiers, of Adele, GA and Terry Hiers, of GA, and sisters Frances Scott, of Mayo, FL and Sherry Klawiter, of Brandon, FL, he also has 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A service will be held at Knauff Funeral Home-Chiefland on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 6:00 PM. Burial will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
