Lewis Orville Hisler, of Williston, Florida, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his home in Williston due to an extended illness. He was 68.Born in Fort Denaud, Florida, he came to Williston in 1980. He belonged to the Williston Church of God. He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korea Conflict, where he received numerous medals, including the Bronze Star. He was blessed with a great deal of patience. He enjoyed watching his grandsons, Wayne and Broc Pogue play baseball as well as other things they were involved in.He is survived by his wife, Grace Hisler of Williston; two daughters, Theresa Schmidt and husband Robert, and Lisa Pogue and husband Billy; 1 sister, Audrey Naumann; two grandsons, Ronald Wayne Pogue and wife Brook; Christopher Broc Pogue and wife Kim; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Hisler.Funeral services for Mr. Hisler will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Williston Church of God with Pastor Wes Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow, with military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post of Chiefland, Florida, at Orange Hill Cemetery under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home - Williston, Florida.
