Daniel Edwards

Dan Evan Edwards passed away suddenly on September 30, 2025. He was a wonderful man, husband, stepfather, brother.

Dan was raised in Stow, Ohio. Played football for the first time in his senior year alongside Larry Csonka and the team won the state championship. Dan was recruited to play at Iowa State where he injured his knee the first year. He finished college at Kent State. During those years he built a 15' fiberglass boat in his parent's garage while drinking his Dad's homemade beer. Moved to Homestead, FL in 1973 to join a steel company as a sales rep. Lived in Puerto Rico, Safety Harbor, South Carolina and back to Homestead. 

There he met the love of his life, Pat. He loved surf fishing, particularly on Ocracoke Island, where he started going with his father in his early teens. This trip became a guys trip for many years and then a family trip after marriage.

He was loved by many and will be terribly missed. So thankful he was able to enjoy our trip to Europe to celebrate his 80th birthday and our 32 years of marriage.

Survived by his wife Patricia Edwards; sister, Beth Long (Gaeton-deceased), stepdaughters Kristin (Mike) and Jennie (Dwayne), stepgrandchildren Trent, Austin, Brooke, Taylor, Jessica & Shelby; great grandchild Parker.

A celebration of life for Daniel Edwards will be held on Oct. 18th from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at their home in Dunnellon, FL.
