Eva Mayo

Eva Ruth Quillen Mayo went home to be with Jesus, her husband, daughter and other family members who have gone before her on May 14, 2017. For the last two years she was a resident of Palm Garden in Gainesville, Florida. Mrs. Mayo and her family moved to Bronson, Florida in 1966. Her husband, Bill, had recently retired from the Navy after 20 years of honorable service. Although they were both Tennessee natives, Bronson quickly became their home. They raised their family there. Mrs. Mayo was born August 2, 1931 in Kingsport, Tennessee. She met and married her husband, William E. Mayo, Sr. while working at the Kroger in Kingsport. He truly was the love of her life. She has missed him terribly after his death. They were married January 21, 1951. While her husband served in the Navy, Mrs. Mayo was a homemaker and mother. Those were the exact things shed always wanted to be. When Mrs. Mayo became unable to live safely at home, she moved to Palm Garden in Gainesville. There are too many people there to thank for taking such amazing care of her. She found a previously unknown love for bingo and art. Wed also like to thank Dr. Osvaldo Rodriguez for being a wonderful physician and special person to her. More than anything else, Mrs. Mayo will be remembered for her love for God. There will never be a woman who loves as fast, as hard, and as deeply as her. That love stemmed directly from her love for and relationship with God. She was a prayer warrior and could always be counted on to lift you up in prayer whenever it was needed. Her heart and home were also always open to anyone who was in need. Mrs. Mayo is predeceased by her husband, Bill, her oldest daughter, Ruth Ann, her mother and her grandparents who raised her. She is survived by her oldest son, William E. (Billy) Mayo and his wife, Karen, her son, Michael Edward Mayo and his wife Lynette, her daughter, Melody Mayo Irizarry and her husband, Roberto. Her grandchildren, Kenneth Michael Mayo, Michelle Lynn Mayo, Kimberly Ann Beauregard, Destiny Lael Mayo, Bethany Marie Mayo, Eva Lauren Irizarry, and Jonathan Rafael Irizarry. Her great grandchildren, Noah Michael Mayo and Olivia Beauregard. She is also survived by many very special friends and people considered family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18th, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Bronson, Florida, with Reverend Priscilla Scherrah officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Rosemary Cemetery, Bronson, under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home - Williston. SERVICES Funeral Service
