Mary Hiers

Mary Ellen Hiers, of Williston, passed away on January 12, 2017 at Haven Hospice Care Center in Chiefland. She was 58. Born in High Point, North Carolina, Mary Ellen lived in the Romeo & Williston area all of her life. She was a nurse, and she helped many people. She graduated from Williston High School and later attended Central Florida Community College. She enjoyed bow hunting and spending time with her family & friends. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Williston. Survivors are: mother, Mary Young Brooks; 2 sons, Levi Garrett "Bo" Hiers, Dustin Baker Hiers; 2 brothers, Marty Brooks, Monty Brooks and wife Sonya; 2 sisters, Billy Jean Key and husband Larry, Misty Brooks Benton and husband Cecil; fiance, Roger Sibbald and son Tanner; 1 granddaughter, Ryleigh Rae Hiers; 1 grandson, Levi Cash Hiers; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 9:00 a.m., January 17, 2017 graveside at Plummer Cemetery off of US 41 South near Morriston, Florida. Pastor Wesley Smith officiating.
