Marvin Lane

Marvin F. Lane, of Williston, Florida passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87. Born in Chiefland, he had lived most of his life in Williston, Florida. He was a member of the Williston Church of God. For 22 years he delivered gas for Williston Gas Co., which served Williston and surrounding counties. He owned and operated Lane's Hardware store in Williston for 20 years. Following his retirement, he worked at Stonehedge farm in Williston. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Lane was a people person who never met a stranger, but his top priority was his family. He leaves his wife Virginia, of 60 years; his children Deborah Ann and husband Richard, Rhesa and husband Stephen Collop, Frankie and wife Stephanie Lane; 5 grandchildren, Dana, Devyn, Caleb, Erik, and Craig; and 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Francis and wife Claudia Lane; and 1 sister, Shirley Lane. He was preceded in death by a son, James Lowman and a grandson, Jamie, in 1975. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday December 20, 2016 at the Williston Church of God with Pastor Wes Smith officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Orange Hill Cemetery under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home - Williston. The family asks that memorials be given to the Williston Church of God Building Fund or to Haven Hospice in Chiefland, Florida. SERVICES Funeral Service
