Obituary

Hilda Lori Land, 58, of Cross City, Florida passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016. Lori, the daughter of J.W. Land and Patty Jean Liles, was born in Jacksonville, Florida on July 21, 1958 and moved to Cross City where she lived for 45 years. Her career with the department of Corrections spanned 34 years, most recently in the position of Administrative Assistant to the Warden. Lori enjoyed her co-workers and was very involved with the Employees Club activities. She was a member of the Lighthouse Word Church in Chiefland for over 30 years, and had a deep faith and love for the Lord Jesus and His Word. Ever generous, Lori was always giving to others in many ways. She loved to bake; many enjoyed! She loved to serve; always helping wherever needed. Lori enjoyed making jewelry, loved to travel, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Lori is survived by sisters, Karen (Emory) Armstrong of Fleming Island, FL, Vicki (Mike) Ellison of Fayetteville, TN, Sherry (Mark) Cline of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and one brother Alton (Angie) Land of Old Town, FL. Nieces Kelly (Jeff) Anderson, Lindsey (DJ) Martorana, Shelby and Whittney Land; Nephews Kyle Ellison, Trey (Holly) Lawley, Cory (Kristin) Land, Jacob (Sarah) Land, along with several great nieces and nephews. If anyone prefers to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family requests they be made to Lighthouse Word Church, 2414 NW 100th Street, Chiefland, FL 32626.
