Blanche Graham

Blanche Hiers Graham passed away at the age of 96 on July 27, 2016 at Ayers Healthcare in Trenton, Florida. She was born on April 10, 1920 on a farm near Chiefland, Florida. She attended Double Sink School, a one-room school house, near her family's farm. She experienced a wonderful life having lived through the great depression, a world war, the terms of 17 presidents and witnessed the evolution of transportation and communication. She married Stancel Graham on September 4, 1937. They had one child, Kay Graham Drummond. Blanche worked for the Selective Service System during a time when all males were required to register with the Selective Service System when they turned 18. She saw many local young men drafted into the army and sent overseas to engage in military battle, some of which never returned.......an experience that bothered her throughout her life. Blanche is predeceased by all her siblings and her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Kay Drummond (Luther), her grandson, Gray Drummond (Marjorie) and two great granddaughters (Elle and Kate). A memorial service is planned for 2:00PM, Sunday, July 31, 2016 in the chapel at Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland, Florida. Burial will be private. SERVICES Funeral Service
