Charles Darryl (Cowboy) Wilkerson Sr. Cowboy took his heavenly flight August 3, 2016 at age 56, he was the son of James and Margaret Wilkerson. He has lived in the surrounding area all his life. He was married to Jean Pitts-Wilkerson and they lived in Bronson, FL. He was of the Church of God faith, and a member of Church of God of Prophecy, Booker, FL. Cowboy never net a stranger, and had a heart of gold, if he could help anyone he did. He loved animals of all kind. And he loved Waffle House. Cowboy was a roofer by trade having worked 30 years in the industry. He was presently employed by Gator Moving and Storage in Gainesville. He lost his arm to a corn picking machine years ago, this did not deter him from continuing to work. He could accomplish most anything he set our to do, even drive a nail. Cowboy's hobbies were hunting, husbandry, tinkering on anything, and deep into the Native American History. He is survived by his wife Jean, sons Charles (Becky) Wilkerson, daughter-in-law Deborah Pitts, Gary L Pitts, Gerard J Pitts, Gerold Pitts, daughters Carol L Herrera and Christine M Pitts, brothers James G Wilkerson Sr., Woodrow P. Wilkerson, Bartley Wilkerson, Andrew Wilkerson. He has 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Herald Wilkerson Sr. and Margaret Ann Hathcox Wilkerson, brother Christopher H Wilkerson and son Jeffery W. Pitts. Visitation will be Friday, August 12, 2016 at Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland 4:00-7:00PM and service will be Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:00AM at Knauff Funeral Home.
