Obituary
Thomas “Oscar” Joyner passed away peacefully at his home in Williston, Florida on August 18, 2025. He was 89. He was born in Black Mountain, North Carolina but grew up in Dunnellon, Florida. He graduated from Dunnellon High School.
Oscar is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dolores “Dee” Joyner. He is survived by their two children and their spouses Tommy (Beth) Joyner and Nena (Wayne) Powell.
Oscar and his son, Tommy, ran Joyner's General Repair for over 40 years in Williston. Prior to establishing this family business, he had worked for Florida Gas Company as a welder. He could fix most anything and always wanted to find out how things ran. He was an avid fisherman-to his last day he carried a rod/reel in his car just in case there was a pond nearby.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 29 at Weems & Sons Funeral Home, Williston, FL. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Wes Smith.
