Betty Sowell

Betty Lou McQuaig Sowell, 84 of Chiefland passed away Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Born in Port St. Joe, Fl, she moved to Chiefland from Wewahitchka two and a half years ago. Mrs. Sowell worked as a receptionist for a radio station and was a mother and homemaker and worked very hard for her family. She loved to read and spend time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte (Mark) Frye of Cairo GA, Kathryn Hatcher of Chiefland FL, and Donna (George) McDougall of Cairo GA; a brother, James L. (Julia) of Port St. Joe FL; and three grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will be having a Memorial Service on Saturday, March 19th, 2016 at the Millville Cemetery in Panama City, FL.
