Obituary

Bobby Williams went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1931 to parents J.L. "Dutch" and Marion C. Williams. He and his wife Jane have lived in Williston since 1962. He was a 1949 Williston High School graduate, where he played football and basketball. He served one year in the U.S. Marines and five years in the Reserves. He then served in the Army and went to Korea and Europe until 1954. He worked for the First National Bank in Gainesville for a number of years and then completed his banking career at Perkins State Bank in Williston. He was active in Boy Scouts for 25 years, taught youth and adult men's Sunday School at the First Baptist Church of Williston, and was the Sunday School director for several years. He served as a Post Commander and Chaplain for the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jane; daughters Roxanne Minnish (Jim), Suzanne Chandler (Lee), Paula Williams, Ivonne Holvino; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his son Dutch Williams. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, February 6 at the First Baptist Church in Williston. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. SERVICES
