Dorothy Fisher

Dorothy Ann Fisher, 75, of Chiefland passed away August 22, 2015 from complications following a stroke. Mrs. Fisher was born in Nashville, TN, but had lived in the Chiefland area since 1988 after moving here from Seminole, FL. She was a retired cashier from Winn Dixie in Chiefland. Mrs. Fisher was an avid card player, enjoyed cooking, and rooting for her Braves and Buccaneers. Mrs. Fisher was of the Episcopal faith, and she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Fisher, a son David Ray Van Meter, and a daughter Deanne Bystrom. Mrs. Fisher is survived by her daughters Denise Van Meter of Madiera Beach, FL, Debbie Van Meter of Port Richie, FL, Donna Van Meter of Port Richie, FL, and Darla Van Meter of Chiefland, FL, seven step children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. The family will have a memorial service at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
