Susan Mochol

Susan Mary Keehan Mochol, 62, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, after her courageous struggle with cancer. Susan was the caregiver for her entire family; beloved mother, devoted wife, caring nana, and a loyal friend. She remained as courageous when facing her illness as she was in life. Susan was born May 21, 1953, in Dobbs Ferry, NY, to George and Mary Keehan; the oldest of six children, and was raised in Ardsley, New York. Susan graduated from Ardsley High School in 1971. She relocated to Hopewell Junction, NY with her then husband Robert Sumpf, and raised their four children for 15 years, before moving to Palm Bay, FL. She married her "hun", Dennis Mochol, in 2003. Susan helped run Dennis' trucking company with Landstar Trucking while working at Kohl's where she later retired in 2014. She often took the opportunity to join Dennis over the road, fulfilling her passion for adventure. An avid gardener with an extensive collection of orchids, Susan loved being outdoors and the beach was her haven. Most of all, Susan enjoyed any activity that brought her closer to those she loved, including cooking, crafting and spending time with her grand babies. She will be remembered as an amazing mother and her loss will be felt deeply by her many friends and colleagues, as well as much extended family; she was loved by all. Susan was of the Catholic faith and was preceded in death by her father, George Keehan, and beloved brother, Douglas Keehan. Susan is survived by her husband of 12 years, Dennis Mochol; a son, Brian Sumpf, of West Melbourne, FL; her daughters, Jennifer Cannata, of Town of Niagara, NY, Kimberly Braddock, of Williston,FL, and Meredith Bale, of Palm Bay, Fl; her mother Mary Keehan of Ardsley, NY; her brothers, Duane Keehan, of Magnolia, KY, Michael Keehan, of Gaylordsville, CT, and David Keehan, of Yorktown Heights, NY;a sister, Maureen Graham, of Staatsburg, NY; her former spouse, Robert Sumpf, of Grant, FL; four grandsons; a neice and two nephews; step children and step grandchildren. A memorial service will be held for Susan 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 13th at Beach Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4999 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32940 (321) 751-6012.
