Hilda Butler

Hilda Holmes Butler 74 of Chiefland passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 surrounded by her family. Hilda was born on April 5, 1941 in Ellzey, Florida to Buford and Eliza Holmes. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Otter Creek Baptist Church. Hilda retired from Levy County School Board where she was a bus driver for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, being outside, and especially spending time with her family and friends. Hilda is preceded in death by her infant son Andy Butler, son Wayne Butler, mother Eliza Holmes, father Buford Holmes, sister Mary Jonel Holmes, and brother James Donald Holmes. Hilda is survived by her son James Galen Butler, daughter in law Jenifer Butler, her very special granddaughter Abigail Butler, older sister Melba Tillis, younger brother Glyn Holmes (Pam), sister in law Mary Holmes, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Hilda touched many lives and the many memories made with her will be cherished forever. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 from 6pm - 8pm at Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland, Florida. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 2pm at Otter Creek Baptist Church in Otter Creek, Florida.
