Wilbur McCallister

Wilbur Mac Wayne McCallister of Williston, Florida was called home to be with the Lord at the age of 76 on August 17, 2015 while at the Haven Hospice in Chiefland. He was born on November 19, 1938 to Willard Wayne and Hazel A. McCallister of Culloden, West Virginia. Mac is a veteran of the Korean War. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1955-1961. He was retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a Baptist by faith and member of the First Baptist Church of Archer. Mac was preceded in death by his father, Willard Wayne McCallister, mother, Hazel A. McCallister, wife of 52 years, Jacqueline Sue McCallister and two siblings James E. McCallister and Helen F. Price. He is survived by his wife of 2 precious years, Bonnie D. McCallister; daughter Mary Ann Sasser of Boaz, Alabama; son Walter Mac Jr Wayne McCallister of Yankeetown, siblings Mary Ann Layne of Washington, West Virginia and Robert L. McCallister of Huntington, West Virginia, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral services for Mr. McCallister will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the Knauff Funeral Home Williston Chapel with Rev. Warren L. Gilpin officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors in Orange Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Haven Hospice or the First Baptist Church of Archer Building Fund.
