Leon Fletcher, Sr.

Leon Otis Fletcher, Sr., 81, of Morriston passed away very peacefully, in his home on Saturday, May 2, 2015. Born in Tifton, Georgia on January 16, 1934. Married his wife of 56 years December 20, 1958. Mr. Fletcher retired from Industrial Glass / Tropicana Inc. in Bradenton, Florida in 1986 and moved to Morriston. There he owned and operated Leon Fletchers Lawn Service for 29 years. Leon loved his family with all his heart. Dedicated his life to the Lord many years ago and loved to sing in his church Resurrection Fellowship, where he was the grounds keeper. Leon is survived by his wife Hilda Fletcher, sons Leon Fletcher, Jr. and James Fletcher, daughters Lea Jenkins, Janice Sloan, Jackie Walker, Julie Johns, and Janet Akerberg, fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a sister Louise Jump. Predeceased by his parents Marvin and Ella Jane Fletcher and a step-mother Ada Fletcher, brothers Robert and Lee Fletcher, sisters Laverne Bozeman and Lavert Simmons. Sing on forever Daddy, Sing On!!! Funeral services for Mr. Fletcher will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 7, 2015 in the Knauff Funeral Home Williston Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Bowdoin officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 5 7 PM.
