Shirley Brooks

Shirley Ann Brooks, age 66 was called to the Lord on September 25, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. She was born October 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia. She is preceded by her parents, James and Madelyn Brooks, and a sister Brenda McDaris. Ann graduated from Campbell of Fairburn High School in 1965. She retired from Central Florida Office Products due to illness in 2001. Ann lived in Cedar Key for 20 years working at The Sea Breeze and Captains Table. Ann was a Charter Member of the Cedar Key Fraternal Order of Eagles 4194 Auxiliary, later moved to Auxiliary 4216 in Ocala Forest. She was also a member of VFW 5625 Chiefland, Am Vets 422, Moose 325, and American Legion 383. Ann is survived by an adopted sister, Linda Brooks; three nieces: Sierra Westrick (David), Latisha Sigman (John) and Delena Duffy; one nephew, John McDaris (Tina), 8 great nieces and 2 great nephews. Ann was active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chiefland. Service to be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Chiefland on October 10, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment in Cedar Key Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Haven Hospice of Chiefland, 311 NE 9th Street Chiefland, FL 32626. Arrangements under the care of Knauff Funeral Home, Chiefland, Florida.
