Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Joyce Feldten, age 79, of Chiefland, FL. A beloved wife, mother, “Granny”, Great “Granny” and sister. Joyce passed on Thursday, May 28th, 2026. Born on November 28th, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Douglas Sandstrom and Bessie (Reynolds) Sandstrom.

She married the love of her life, Bob Feldten in Honolulu, HI on June 12th, 1964. Together they had three children and later adopted two more.  As a family they took many road trips and made wonderful memories together. They lived in Hawaii, Utah and Minnesota until Bob and Joyce eventually built their dream home on the golf course in Chiefland, FL.

Joyce will be remembered for many things. She was always more than happy to lend her nursing skills, which took many directions in her lifetime. Her faith in Jehovah and his Kingdom was very important to her. She loved her family with her whole heart. She loved working in her gardens, walking along the beach, making beautiful handmade greeting cards with dear friends, shopping antiques and her many precious friends from the Kingdom Hall. As always, she enjoyed a good glass of wine or brandy at night with popcorn and the love of her life, “Bobby”.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father, Douglas Sandstrom; her mother, Bessie Mellon; son, Joshua Feldten; son in law, Troy Theisen; brothers, Skip Sandstrom and Jay Russell.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Bob; children, Roshell Kramer(David), Tana Theisen, Dusty Feldten(Desirae) and Asha Nowen(Jon); daughter in law, Holly Feldten. As well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, three sisters, one brother and a few “bonus grandchildren”.

Joyce chose not to have a memorial service. As a family we ask that you please remember her as the vibrant, fun loving, genuine, beautiful and faithful servant that she was.

my sweetheart of almost 62 years what was the most kind and generous person I have ever known unselfishly she took care of ones that were struggling with life, unhealthy, and many other problems having that caring nurse attitude with her help we raised our five children, and she was a blessing for every one of them, we lived and went to so many places together always enjoying one another’s company. I will miss her greatly. I look forward to the day when she is once again on a paradise earth that is my belief and that is God‘s promise.
