Obituary

Michael Valentine LoMauro Born February 15 1943, passed away on June 15,2026.

Growing up in Manhattan NY, Michael, the youngest of 4 siblings, experienced a life only written about in stories. His family owned and operated a Bakery and as a teenager, Michael drove an Ambulance around the busy streets of the city. Born into this world with music in his heart, he attended Charles Evans Hughes High School and later studied Business Administration at CCNY Baruch class of 61’ and Sales Management at American Management Association Class of 64’. Working various jobs throughout his life, he was also a professional Jazz musician, writing and playing for commercials while picking up gigs with his band throughout New York and New Jersey. After moving to Vernon, NJ with his wife Roberta, and two sons, they opened a music store in 1990 called Sussex County Music. If you couldn’t find Michael teaching drums and running the shop, you could definitely find him performing around town to friends, family and strangers. After years of teaching the young how to play drums and running his music store, Michael and Roberta retired and moved to Williston Florida. Always one for a good story or a bad joke, Michael could always make you laugh and put a smile on your face.

Michael is pre-deceased by his wife Roberta (Byrdie) Charlotte LoMauro and survived by his son Michael (Mick) LoMauro, fiancé Belinda (Bindy) Ziegler, son Robert LoMauro and wife Cherie LoMauro. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews Rickey Statler, Ginger Statler, Rennie Statler, Ronald Statler, his wife Debbie Statler, Lynda DeMartino and Joanne LoMauro Snyder and her husband Steve Snyder. Michael was a Great Uncle to 11 nieces and nephews and Great, Great Uncle to another 4 nieces and nephews.

Mike was the best neighbor anyone could wish for. He was fun, loved to laugh and always made us feel like family. So many memories..lawn mower races, pool side fun, boat trips, Thursday mystery rides for Mike and Rich, his smile..his love for Byrdie. We will miss him. Already do. God bless Bob and Mick, we love them! God rest his soul.
