Obituary

Gary Karl Malinowski was born on May 18, 1951, in Pennsylvania and passed away on July 13, 2026, in Florida. He was 75 years old.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sue. She was the love of his life, and they lived a very adventurous life together. He is also survived by his three children, Sharlene Malinowski- LaCaze (Chad), Ashley Muckinhaupt, and Karl Malinowski, and six grandchildren, Sully, Sydnie, Bella, Preston, Gabby, and CeCe. All of his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

Gary was a member of Local 66 Union of Operating Engineers and the United Steel Workers of America. He loved his job as a heavy equipment operator for 50 years across the United States. “No hill too steep, no rock too hard, no river too wide” was his motto. He could do it all, and he was well known for his expertise in his trade.

He recently visited Alaska and fulfilled a lifelong dream. He wanted to finish his career working on the next Alaskan pipeline, but God had a different plan and called him home.

Gary loved the mountains, hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood. His dogs were his best friends—Shausta, Maggie, and Annie Oakley. He is now with Shausta, his favorite girl. She passed away last year and was his heart and soul. Camping was their favorite time together.

Gary will be missed by many. He was a legend, the “Best there ever was.”

I will miss you. You'll never be forgotten. Fly high, “Free Bird,” until we meet again.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Weems & Sons Funeral Homes.
