John Arnow

John Charles Arnow, 76, rode his final trail, leaving behind a life defined by hard work, grit, adventure, and an enduring love of the American West.

A proud graduate of Judson University, John was an ambitious and intelligent businessman whose career was defined by craftsmanship and entrepreneurship. As the owner of Arnow Construction, he spent decades building homes and earning the respect of clients and colleagues through his integrity, vision, and work ethic. His passion for the land led him to own and operate Ugly Horse Ranch Land Cattle Company, where he embraced the cowboy lifestyle he loved so deeply.

As the owner of Ugly Horse Ranch Land & Cattle Company, John lived the life he loved most. A cowboy at heart, he found his greatest joy on horseback, surrounded by open land and raising his family. The ranch became more than just a home—it was a gathering place where friends and family made lasting memories. John operated a welcoming bed-and-breakfast on the property and hosted team penning rodeos, sharing his love of horses, ranch life, and Western traditions with everyone who visited.

John never met a stranger. He enjoyed entertaining, telling stories, and bringing people together. Whether he was building a home, working cattle, riding the trails, or welcoming guests to the ranch, he lived with purpose.

For 30 years, John shared his life with his beloved wife, Andrea Arnow, who preceded him in death. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and lasting memories. Though he deeply missed Andrea, he carried her love with him every day.

John is survived by his three children, Jessie Arnow, Wyatt Arnow, and Josh Arnow, who carry forward the values of perseverance, independence, and determination that he instilled through both his words and his example.

John’s legacy isn’t measured only by the homes he built or the land he stewarded, but by the people he welcomed, the traditions he preserved, and the family he loved. His boots may now rest, but his spirit will forever ride across the pastures and live on in all who knew and loved him.
