Obituary

Wallace Elwin "Butch" Tyo, III, 78 of Chiefland, Florida passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his family. Wallace was born on November 21st of 1947 in Keene, New Hampshire to Wallace Elwin Tyo, Jr and Elizabeth Thelma (Burnham) Tyo.

He later received his GED and went into the United States Army and become an 82nd Airborne Para Trooper. Once getting out of the Army, he became a truck driver and drove for a few difference companies, such as Dead River for 50 years until he later retired. In 1999, Wallace married his 2nd wife of 27 years, Patricia McCarthy of Braintree, Massachusetts. Once retired, Wallace then moved from Portsmouth, New Hampshire of 57 years to Florida.

Wallace was a member of two motorcycle clubs, Iron Horseman Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Heavens Devil. He was a big fan of the New England Patriots football team, loved driving his Harley Davidson, as well as playing his electric guitar.

He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Patricia (McCarthy) Tyo, daughters; Zandra Rollino of Swanzey New Hampshire, Brenda (John) Beckett of Rochester, New Hampshire, Ledith Moore of Rochester, New Hampshire and Julie (Manny) Garcia of Kingmen, Arizona; son, Hank (Denise) Harris of Crossville, Tennessee; brother, Gary Tyo of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and sister, Bonnie (Allen) Rough of Rochester, New Hampshire. As well as Grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and many dear friends.

He is preceded by his parents, Wallace Tyo Jr. and Elizabeth Tyo; brothers, Larry and Ronald Tyo and sister, Tina Rough.

A special thanks to Julie Murphy for helping Butch. He was truly loved by all and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
